My husband's great grandmother was Frances Annie Frater, daughter of Moses Frater and Elizabeth Dixon, born 1889 at Boldon Colliery. We have a photo of her and her sister. Frances had an awful life - married at 18, died in her thirties, 16 children, 11 of whom died at birth.
